How Buddhism declined in Bangladesh

There was many reason responsible for the decline of Buddhism in Bangladesh. So it would be risky to think that there was one single reason. So the following things are the reasons for declining Buddhism.
1.     1. The greater part of the decline of Buddhism took place after the pala rule and before coming of the Muslims due to anti Buddhist policy of brahmanical kings and Brahmins.
2.     2. Tantrism is to be considered as one of the most crucial causes responsible for the decline of Buddhism for it was tantrism that gave rise to corruption in the faith and helped to merge Buddhism into Hinduism. Though tantrism brought about the massive popularization in Buddhism, it at the same time undermined its distinctiveness. Moreover, the Sahajiya the later development of tantric Buddhism was a movement that represented a clear challenge to the monastic life. As the monastic activities disappeared, the priests lost popular contact and support.
3.     3. The destruction of the monasteries by the Muslim invaders was partly responsible for the decline of Buddhism. Monasteries were the life centers of Buddhism. When there were destroyed, the sangha could not maintain its existence.
4.     4. Even more important that loss of royal support, Buddhism declined due to loss of popular support.
