Nikaya Buddhism is monastic Buddhism after the initial
schism into the MahasanghiKa and Sthavira schools had occurred.

century B.C and 10th century A.D, is called Indian Buddhism.

Mahasanghika is sect created by Vijjiputtaka bhikkhus in the
4th century BC, about 100 years after the Buddha's death, and represented the
first major schism in the Buddhist community. There were nine kinds of branches
in Mahasanghika.
